Sueco ( Sway-co ) is
a musician/songwriter/performer from Philadelphia. Sueco
started with piano at a young age, and went on to play in
rock and jazz bands through college. It was on a soul-searching
road trip to San Francisco that Sueco began composing. Influenced
by his older brothers record collection, the sound has been
described as The Police meets Elvis Costello meets The Cars.
Faded started as another song called "Tidy Ending,"
about physician assisted suicide. After months of uneasiness
about the tune, a new chorus was written, and the whistle
hook was added. The verse lyrics stayed the same, and the
new chorus was written about a particularly "Faded"
waitress. Faded was written and all the instruments were
performed by Sueco for the recording.
Sueco has been performing in San Francisco since 1999 and
is currently backed by a trio of veteran Bay Area musicians,
Juan Caipo/Drums, James Deprato/Guitar and Charles Gasper/Bass.
The live shows have been described as "energetic and
emotive." Constantly writing new material, Sueco hopes
to make song-writing and performing his career.
