Martie Echito Biography

Here’s my story...

High school rock bands in the late 60's, road tours in a show band in the early
70's.

Late 70's - Lots of Los Angeles studio session work (including Stephen Stills,
Spellbound, Clifford T. Ward, Rick Dees), an album on Polydor with a band called "Waves", produced & engineered by Bill Halverson (Crosby,Stills,Nash - Stephen Stills - Cream - REO Speedwagon, etc.).

Co-Publishing deal with CBS (April Music) in the late 70's - early 80's. Songs recorded by Englebert Humperdinck, Clifford T. Ward, Steve Archer, Rick Dees, Connie Scott, Cecilio & Kapono.

Producing music for jingles, film scores (including music for several surf films for
Quiksilver, Brian Bleak, and Third Eye Productions), Independent CD projects-- playing keyboards, guitar, bass, drums, and adding vocals whenever possible.

1st Place in the 2007 Unisong International Songwriting Contest, Instrumental
category, for “My New Home”.

Currently in a Classic Rock band called The Ravelers (www.Ravelers.com), and a band that plays music for kids & their parents called The Happy Crowd (www.HappyCrowd.com), which was nominated for three songs in the 2007 L.A. Music Awards, and a top 5 winner in the 2007 Great American Songwriting Contest.

Writing whenever possible, and feeling grateful to have been able to make a living doing something I love for over 35 years.
